SSWC
Update August 17th: The following is the call for the SSWC-the book that I went out with on July 5. Now, the book printed and can be ordered .
SSWC book 2010
Sweden Social Web Camp on Tjärö August 13 to 15
Now we start up the project SSWC book 2010th In the more than one month remaining until Tjärö weekend, I put together a book of essays by so many SSWC participants as possible.
Important Update: If you discover this book project is only now (after the initial deadline has actually passed)? I have now extended the deadline to July 20 so that more people should have the opportunity to be involved in the book.
Even more important update: Now it's on the evening of July 20. Get in touch - for example, on Twitter: @ piratforlaget - if you have problems leaving your text today. We solve it, no problem.
Update 21 July: For now the the postponed deadline passed and I'm starting to put together the book itself. If you are late with your entry? No problem, we solve it. If you discover this book project is only now and want to join? No problem, we solve it as well. In short, everything will work out. Get in touch on eg Twitter @ piratforlaget or email me at mattias@piratforlaget.se
Update 7 August: The book is currently in press and delivered directly to Twitter buses that go down to Tjärö on Friday 13 August. I'll be back soon with info on how to order it unless you're going on SSWC.
Follow these steps to join:
1) Select a text by yourself. Preferably a recent blog post, but it does of course not be something already nätpublicerat. Many of the book has also chosen some older texts, from 2007-2009. You decide. It may well be about the social web, or related topics - or it can be about anything that you tend to write about. Cycling and Danish sausages, what do I know.
The length of the book's text can be variable, but rather a little shorter texts than lengthy essays. Some writers have wondered how many characters it represents: somewhere between 2 000 and 10 000 characters (including spaces) are well enough.
The book is printed in black and white, so pictures we run only if it is necessary to understand the text.
If there are some important links in the text I put them as footnotes.
2) Send an email to me at mattias@piratforlaget.se with a link to your blog post or attach the text. If it's a blog will not post any comments to be published in the book - but if you prefer, you can of course summarize some important comments in a short addition to the text. Do not forget to attach a header to the text.
3) Write a short presentation of yourself. Just a few sentences. Also give way to reach you or read your material: blog addresses, twitter accounts, etc. Just the information that you think are most important. I'll post the presentation and information in their text in the book.
4) Send me the latest 20 July (note: extended), so that I get a reasonable amount of time in putting together the book before the SSWC. I suspect that it may be of more than 500 pages ...
5) Take with you a hundred to Tjärö you'll get your copy of the book there. The price is the cost of what it costs to print the book in print-on-demand. If it becomes thinner than expected so the price will be lower. Eventually, the price may also fall if I can get a sponsor.
Even if you choose not to be included in the book, you can of course buy a copy of the book. Email me about it then, so I know how many copies I should touch up. Since I do not charge any profit on the project, every unsold copy SEK 100 loss for me, so I really need to know how large edition I'm going to press.
Do you have any questions - email me or write a comment below. I'm creating a FAQ after which questions will.
Again, I hope that as many as possible of the SSWC participants want to join!
See you on Tjärö!
