Of course I say that it is called sömngojs. You know, that gritty feeling you have in mind just when you wake up. I have no idea what its function - given that it has to sleep to do it well a waste product ...
It seems to work well to seal the eyelids. For as soon as you poke it away so it is quite impossible to go back to sleep. Very strange.
It seems to be in agreement as to how these small grains is really called. I asked around among friends on Twitter and Facebook and had among others the following questions:
Sleep
Fårgråt
Morning Pills
Morgonklegg
Snails
Goy in the eyes
Gravel
Morning
Morning Gravel
Sleep Old men
Sleep Tutor
Sleep Gravel
Sandman powder
Sleep in the eye
Gros
Girsch
Morgongåva
Morning / good morning / good morning
Jox in the eyes
I have another some answers, some very strange (such as "Tram"). Are there more variations? Please comment.

At home, we say just "dirt." "You have sand in your eyes, I awakened you?"
Sleep! I've always said. :)
my mom here in Dalom said it was called "seam of sand"
Sovgubbar I learned when I was little :) Almost the same as "Sleeping Old men" that you have listed.
In the 80-century-oxelösundska: "You have a teddy bear in the eye."
Just guessing that it possibly can refer to the Sandman, but pretty sweet anyway. Still use it.
